Taking care of your auto air conditioning
Auto air conditioning is a very important part of your car and it will go a long way in ensuring that your drives are pleasant. But one thing which you will need to do to ensure this is make sure that the A/C works well. After all, if it isn't working properly, you will not get the cool air you need from it and this will do the exact opposite and make your car very uncomfortable to sit in. Given below are a few simple tips that can help you ensure this problem is something you never have to deal with:
1. It is very important for you to keep the cabin of your car as clean as possible. Any dust and dirt can get stuck in the A/C and cause trouble. Don't forget to check the carpets as well for spores and mold. These things will not only spoil the A/C but also cause a bad smell each time you turn it on.
2. Whenever you wash your car, ensure you spray inside your hood as well. This includes the A/C condenser too. This part looks just like the radiator but is located just in front of it. This will help loosen the dust in the condenser and improve the cooling.
3. As far as parking your car is concerned, even though it will not always be possible, try to find a shady place to park. Even if it means you have to walk a little bit more. At least your car will remain nice and cool till you get back. This will reduce the amount of effort the A/C has to put in to cool the car as well.
4. There is an extra fan right in front of the condenser which will turn on each time you put on the air conditioning. This fan should always be working perfectly with no obstruction as if there is anything blocking it, it will definitely cause damage to the compressor hose. It may even cause it to explode so be careful.
5. You should never smoke inside your car while the air conditioner is on. This will not only contaminate the evaporator with nicotine but also make your A/C give out a foul smell each time you turn it on. This is a very difficult smell to get rid of.
6. And lastly, when you are driving at high speeds, try and reduce the load of the A/C. Your car is already working so hard, why would you want to put additional pressure on the engine?
